CARE EXPERIENCED MENTOR

BASED IN DERBY and/or NOTTINGHAM/NOTTINGHAMSHIRE

PART TIME 17.5 HOURS PERMANENT (an increase in hours at a later date may be possible)

SALARY:  Up to £17,000 PER ANNUM PRO RATA DEPENDENT ON EXPERIENCE PLUS BENEFITS

 

Core Assets Children’s Services are an established children’s services provider that delivers innovative and outcomes-based services, offering real value and building brighter futures for as many children, young people and families as possible.

 

Working across Derby City, Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire, we are working to support young people to transition from residential care to foster care placements, be supported to avoid escalation from fostering to residential care, supporting young people to be re-unified with their families / primary carers; and helping young people to remain out of care.

 

We now require a Care Experienced Mentor to support our young people before, during and after their transition period to foster care in the most effective way, appropriate to their needs and understanding.  You will be a positive role model for the young person inspiring and encouraging them to identify and work towards achieving their own aspirations.  You will also need to be a natural relationship builder able to build effective relationships with young people, carers, colleagues and other professionals.

 

Our Mentor will need to have been a looked after child during childhood and hold a qualification in Mentoring, Counselling, IAG or equivalent of level 2 or above.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to share your experience as a looked after child and join a dynamic team who are committed to achieving positive outcomes for children’s and families.

 

We also offer an excellent benefits package which includes generous holiday allowance starting at 28 days and rising to 35 days per annum in line with service (allowance pro rata’d for part time working) plus bank holidays, child care vouchers, and contributory pension scheme.
